The canopy is single-layer, made of 100% polyester, and rests on 8 ribs. The shaft, top cap and tip are black.
The umbrella opens at the press of a button (semi-automatic) and closes by hand. When furled, it is held by a fabric strap with a silver-tone snap button.
The crook handle is carved from chestnut wood with a visible natural grain and knots, and carries an oval silver-tone plaque engraved with the Pasotti name. Chestnut is a natural material, so the shade and grain of the wood vary from one umbrella to another.
