Made in Italy from soft matte calf leather. The compass rose — the Cortina emblem — is embossed low on the front; there is no other decoration.
It opens like a book. The sleeves are bound into the spine and fan out, so you can run through a stack of cards without pulling any of them free; each holds a card on both faces, twelve sleeves in all. The lining is woven fabric.
At 7 × 10 cm it is jacket-pocket sized, and there is no clasp to work around — it simply opens.
